About the Event
Course Overview
Using an online learning platform and through a mix of independent learning and live online sessions, this course qualifies you as a Mental Health First Aider giving you:
- An in-depth understanding of mental health and the factors that can affect wellbeing
- Practical skills to spot the triggers and signs of mental health issues
- Confidence to step in, reassure and support a person in distress
- Enhanced interpersonal skills such as non-judgemental listening
- Knowledge to help someone recover their health by guiding them to further support - whether that’s self-help resources, through their employer, the NHS, or a mix
You will receive a certificate to confirm your training as well as the five-step MHFA action plan and comprehensive manual on completion of the course.
Course Structure
It typically takes 15 hours for a learner to complete the course. This is structured in the following way:
- Individual learning – 1hr
- Live session one – 15th March
- Individual learning – 2hrs
- Live session two – 16th March
- Individual learning – 2hrs
- Live session three – 17th March
- Individual learning – 2hrs
- Live session four – 18th March

This course is run over four days from 15:00-17:30 - attendance on all days is required for certification.
